Replacing Pedal Bushings

Pedal ready for new bushing. To remove pedals from pivot shaft - grind down head on retainer pin and punch out.

Close up of receiving hole for bushing.

Removing old bushing. I found that a 1/2" craftsman extension was the correct size to remove the bushing.

Mini lathe used to create bushing driver and retainer pin.

Bushing on driver tool. A bushing driver is reqired because the bushing wall is very thin and will collapse when pressed in.

Bushing installed

Pedal pivot retaining pin. Press fit into the pedal pivot shaft so that grease will not come out under pressure. specs: .255 o.d. x 1.5" long. I machined one (right). Peen other end over after installation.
